To transform astronomy into an experiential adventure, we developed the “Space House” concept for the first time in Turkey. We approach the project holistically, from architectural transformation to all content, design, and installation processes.
The experience begins with participants donning specially designed astronaut costumes, the first of their kind in Turkey. Taking on the role of an astronaut, they step into a specially designed space where they feel as if they are in the atmosphere of space. Here, using a “learning by doing” approach, they explore the surface of the Moon or a space station through digital and physical applications.
We have implemented the Space House concept in many regions as a turnkey solution, from curatorial design to installation. In these centers, we have designed workshops for children of different age groups, starting from preschool. Using this model, we first established the Ali Kuşçu Space House for Eyüp Municipality in 2015, the Uluğ Bey Space House in 2019, and the El-Battani Space House for Kağıthane Municipality in 2020.
