We implemented the “Very Special Guest Rooms” project for the domestic and international terminals of Istanbul Airport. We designed the architectural layout of these special areas around a calm, nature-themed concept that sets them apart from the airport’s bustling atmosphere.

With this approach, we created many unique designs, ranging from wall-mounted sensory installations to mechanical play units. These interactive elements are complemented by relaxation areas and flight information screens in the rooms.

As Usturlab, we managed the entire project, from concept design to the production of all units and final on-site installation, using a turnkey approach. These areas were designed to allow guests with special needs who require a calm environment to wait for their flights stress-free; soft-floor therapy areas are also part of this holistic design.
