We brought the scientific work of the Marmara Research Center (MAM), TÜBİTAK’s largest institute, to visitors at major events such as Observation Festivals and Teknofest. In 2022 and 2023, we transformed MAM’s advanced research into understandable and tangible experiences in public spaces.
To bring science out of confined spaces and into festival areas, we developed the “MAM-LAB On-the-Go Science” concept. Under this umbrella, a series of setups were designed and produced that allowed visitors to directly experience complex topics. Visitors interacted with many stations, from the Crime Scene Investigation and Seismometer experience area to the Fuel Cell Table, 3D DNA Model, and the IGLU experience area showcasing the work of the Polar Research Center.
As Usturlab, we handled not only the idea and design processes but also the production of all the setups in this project. Throughout the events, we managed the technical setup of the booth areas and all field operations during the festival with a turnkey approach.
